I too use the Current Cost Envi to monitor household appliances. Having a Pope 1960's fridge I was suprised to see the actual running cost were less than some of the modern fridges of the same size.
ReplyDeleteAt present my Pope costs AUD$2.82 per month to run!! Yes it's winter now and the average temp in the kitchen is 16C. When I convert this to kwh per year, what I get is 170kwh! As we can see, old is not necessarily inefficient.
Everything needs to be put into perspective! Yes it has an old compressor, old gas! A seal that is 100% leak free [self designed] and has plenty of space around, in a cool area!
Good on you Current Cost Envi for shedding light on the truth!
